Ooty, also known as Udhagai is a popular hill station and the district capital of the Nilgiris district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is situated 80 km north of Coimbatore. Niligiri hills are abode to eucalyptus trees which blooms in every twelve years giving the hills a bluish tinge and so is the name given Nilgiri.
