Kasauli is a tiny town in Himachal Pradesh that is around 77 km from Shimla and 70 km from Chandigarh. Legend has it that the town was formed after Lord Hanuman placed his foot on the region during his advancement to Sanjeevani Hill. The spot where he placed his foot is believed to be a hillock which is still in existence. Kasauli was a sleepy village until the British India developed it into a beautiful hill station. Despite advancement in infrastructure, Kasauli is not fully commercialized and is a great getaway from travelers looking for some peace and seclusion. In fact, travellers visiting Kasauli during the off season (November to February) are unlikely to encounter not even a single tourist and their only company will be the sounds of chirping birds and the gentle rustle of leaves.
